I just wanted to make sure everyone was aware that we have posted an update to the Flex 3.5 SDK that went out in December. This update addresses a critical bug with the AIR auto-updater UI (SDK-24766). The fix has been posted in a rebuild of the 3.5 SDK called 3.5a and can be found here (under the Latest Milestone Release Builds table).
We encourage all developers using the 3.5 SDK to updgrade to 3.5a for continued development. The fix that went into this updated build does not affect the signing and caching of the 3.5 RSLs that went out with the original 3.5 SDK in December.
The latest build shows Dec 18 for the 3.5a.
Is this correct? ? We are Feb 2
Hi Phil – Go here:
http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/Download+Flex+3
And download the Flex SDK 3.5a build from the “Latest Milestone Release Builds” table. The entry shows a date of 2/2/10.
Ah, we had updated the date after you posted your comment – all is well 🙂
Hi Deepa, are there any other fixes besides the one you mentioned? Is there a changelist somewhere? Thanks, Christophe
Hi Christophe – That was the only issue fixed (SD-24766) and the only delta to the build from the original 3.5 release.
As a side-note, I just happened to notice that there is a new stable Flex 4 build posted on Jan 29 (4.0.0.13875), but I didn’t see any announcements about it. Is there anywhere I can go to find more info about any major changes in this build, or an announcement mailing list somewhere I can get on?
Flex 3 is dead to me. All hail the great and mighty Flex 4.
David – Thats the first stable Flex 4 build we posted as we get closer to the end of the release. There’s no changelist describing the work that went in because its essentially all of the feature work comprising Flex 4 🙂
Hi Deepa,
In my research, i came across your blog.
I am hoping to reach out to you and see if you or someone you can refer to us would be interested in a very cool, unique Flex project. We are open to any and all suggestions 🙂
We recently launched an updated site, http://www.bottleyourbrand.com. At it’s core, is a very powerful design online tool (DOL), built in Flex. The DOL allows users to manipulate images, text and create unique designs. These designs are then converted (server side) into a print ready PDF. We are looking to expand the functionality of the DOL and make it much more robust.
If you know of anyone that has ninja like Flex skills and prefers to take on tough (but rewarding) challenges, please let me know. Your input is much appreciated!
Sincerely,
